2026 Car Reunion

Back for its second year at Soldiers Reunion, the Car Reunion brings together car enthusiasts from all makes, models, and years for a day of family fun in Downtown Newton. Enjoy a static showcase of amazing vehicles, browse local vendors, grab a bite from food trucks, and groove to music by DJ Terry. Bring your lawn chair and the whole family for a celebration of cars, community, and good times!

Rules

  • All vehicles must display an Official Soldiers Reunion Car Reunion window placard of the current year in order to participate in the display of the cars.

  • The Soldiers Reunion Event is not responsible for any accidents, damages, or theft that occurs at the event.

  • There will be no judging of cars that will take place, therefore there will be no awards given.

  • Park only in designated areas or where told by an Official Soldiers Reunion Staff Member

  • No loud music will be played by any participant of the event

  • No Burnouts Allowed!

  • **ONLY ONE VEHICLE PER APPLICATION!!**

What to Bring:

  • Comfortable shoes for walking

  • Sunscreen

  • Umbrella (just in case of that North Carolina Weather)

  • Cash/Card for food and drinks (unless you bring your own)

  • Your Phone or A Camera to take pictures for your memories (and to tag us in on Facebook and/or Instagram)

  • This is a Family-Friendly Event, so bring the kids…they will LOVE IT!!!

    Bikes, scooters, rollerblades, skates, etc. are prohibited on the streets and sidewalks at ALL Soldiers Reunion Events.

2026 Car Cruisin’

On this excitement-filled day, ladies and gentlemen from Catawba County and the surrounding areas bring their classic rides to the downtown streets of Newton, NC. This is a staple event that has evolved throughout the years of the Soldiers Reunion and is an entertainable way to honor our veterans, enjoy time with family and friends and to see some really awesome cars!! In addition to the cars on display, there will be food vendors and other exhibitors on the side streets.

Rev up your engines and step back in time as we bring back a classic tradition with the Soldiers Reunion Cruisin’!

🕰️ Just like it was before 1972, the streets will come alive with chrome, muscle, horsepower, and heritage. Whether you're behind the wheel or just here for the show, this is a night of vintage vibes, cool rides, and community pride you won’t want to miss.

🚘 Show & Shine: Check out a stunning lineup of classic, custom, and muscle cars on display.

📸 Snap photos, talk shop, and enjoy the nostalgia with fellow car lovers.

🏁 Cruise Time! As the sun starts to set, we’ll fire up those engines and cruise the streets of Newton just like back in the day. No destination, just a good old-fashioned ride through town.

🎵 Enjoy music, food trucks, and sidewalk fun while soaking up the sights and sounds of Newton’s rich cruising history.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family-friendly • All ages welcome

2026 Gospel Night featuring Elevation Lake Norman’s Praise Team

On this beloved night, people from community gather together to listen and sing-along to their favorite Worship Songs of past and present time. It is one of the favorite staple events of Reunion Week. The band that will be leading the songs for 2026 is the Elevation- Lake Norman Praise Team. There will be food vendors and other exhibitors set up on the side streets while the concert takes place.

2026 Beach Night & Baby Parade featuring Too Much Sylvia

On this ever-popular fun-filled night, the sounds of Beach Music fill the whole town of Newton. Everybody brings out their lawn chairs and set them up in the streets and grassy areas to embrace the fluent musical talent of… However let us not forget about the popularity-growing Baby Parade that will be taking place right before the Beach Music Concert. People of the community will bring their babies out in patriotic attire, even going as far as decorating a wagon, to show their American Pride through their children. There will even be a prize for the most patriotic baby!! There will be food vendors and other exhibitors set up on the side streets as well!!

What to Bring:

2026 Street Dance featuring 20 Ride - American's #1 Zac Brown Tribute & Pet Mania

On this fun-filled night, the crowds take over the streets to get their boogey on!! All sorts of music will be played…the only question is, can you get groovey and throw it down on the dance floor (well it’s the street, but you know what we mean)!!! As one of the community favorites, this event will be sure to have you shaking your tailfeathers, or at least tapping your foot to the beat of the music!! With all the excitement of the music and dancing, don’t forget to catch Pet Mania, right before the Street Dance!! Categories for this year’s Pet Mania are Pet/Owner Look Alike, Smallest, Largest, Best Trick, Best Costume, and Best Patriotic Costume. Bring your furry friend and show off your better half!! Stop by Conover Veterinary Hospital to sign up or register the day of the event. There will be food vendors and other exhibitors set up on the side streets as well.
